Recently, the“United Nations Language Professionals Training Program Test Center was officially built in College of Arts and Sciences of our university, and thus we become the sole authorized examination point of this program in Shanghai.

At present, the international communication and cooperation are growing, and the service outsourcing industry of China are also flourishing, so the demand on high-level talents who have international vision and is able to adapt the detailed segment of industry is increasing. With the development of exporting strategy of China's economy and culture, international enterprise, government agencies and relevant UN organizations desiderate a lot of high-level language service talents who take Chinese as native language and have compound professional backgrounds relating to politics, economy, society, culture, finance and law. Under such background, China Translation Corporation and U. N. Institute for Training and Research jointly launches the“United Nations Language Professionals Training Program”(called UNLPP for short).

As the sole vocational and professional high-level international language talent certificate test launched by International Training Institute of U. N. Institute for Training and Research in Asian-Pacific region, the UNLPP, which is oriented by the detailed segments of market, is designed on the basis of development trend of demand standard and certification system of UN and domestic language talent, and focuses on certification of vocational ability of language service and has four features of“practical, professional, high-level and precise localization”.

The School of Foreign Languages of our university has successfully carried out this examination for 2 years. In the future, the College of Arts and Sciences and School of Continuing Education will jointly promote the UNLPP examination and actively expand the authorized training.
